Am I Eligible to Take the TRCN Examination? 

Absolutely! If you have pursued education at the university or college level, you are eligible to register for the TRCN examination.

To qualify for TRCN registration for the exam, certification, and licensing, you should possess a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE, PDE, or PDDE) if your university degree is in a non-education field, or hold an HND qualification.

To successfully complete your TRCN registration, ensure you have and submit the following documents:

  1. School Certificate: Copy of your NCE, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree certificate.
  2. Teaching Qualification: If you possess an Education-related certificate (e.g., NCE, B.Ed, M.Ed), you are already considered a qualified teacher and do not require additional teaching qualifications.
  3. Non-Education School Certificate: If you do not possess a teaching qualification (PGDE, PDE, or PDDE), you must provide your non-education certificate (e.g., B.Sc., B.A, M.Sc., M.A, PhD) alongside your teaching qualification.
  4. Birth Certificate: Photocopy of your birth certificate.
  5. Certificate of State of Origin: Photocopy of your certificate of state of origin.
  6. Passport Photographs: Four copies of passport-sized photographs.

How to Apply for TRCN Registration

 Interested applicants can follow these steps to complete your TRCN registration for the exam:

  1. Visit any TRCN office in your state. Refer to the official TRCN office list provided.
  2. Inform the officer of your intention to register for the TRCN Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE).
  3. You will receive Remita payment instructions to make a payment of ₦3,500 to a designated federal account via Remita. Ensure payment is made only to the authorized federal account.
  4. Proceed to a bank or computer café and follow the Remita payment process as provided. Be cautious with your ATM card information and use trusted service providers.
  5. Return to the TRCN office with proof of payment (teller or Remita receipt) and all required registration documents.
  6. Fill out the provided exam registration form after your documents and payment have been validated. Choose the appropriate category (A to D) based on your highest level of certification.
  7. Obtain your TRCN test permit and exam date from the officer. Exchange contact information for further inquiries or exam-related information.

TRCN Registration Fees

  1. PhD: The registration fee is ₦10,000.00. Annual fee  ₦5,000.00 
  2. M.Sc: The registration fee is  ₦8,000.00. Annual fee   ₦4,000.00 
  3. B.Sc: The registration fee is ₦6,000.00. Annual fee   ₦3,000.00 
  4. NCE: The registration fee is ₦3,000.00. Annual fee  ₦2,000.00
